  CF-105 ARROW - NOW A LEGACY PRODUCT

Please note that this addon is now a legacy product originally designed for FS2004 (compatible with FSX). However, the product will still be available for collectors to download at a discount price and technical support will still be provided for a limited time, until it is retired.

EXPERIENCE THE DREAM, FLY A LEGEND!

The Avro Arrow remains the stuff legends are made of many years after all prototypes were ordered destroyed just before the aircraft could fulfill its intended role as a new type of high-altitude interceptor against long-range enemy bombers during the Cold War. The Arrow was a revolutionary aircraft and certainly one of the most advanced of its time. It used computer control and “fly by wire” technology and was capable of flying over Mach 2.0.

The Xtreme Prototypes CF-105 Arrow add-on aircraft package contains five variations of the Avro Arrow Mark 1 and one variation of the Arrow Mark 2. The highly detailed exterior models feature more than 600 parts and 60 animations. The fully functional virtual cockpits contain over 900 parts and more than 200 back and front-lit 3D gauges, lights, switches and flight instruments. A custom flight model has been designed to simulate supersonic flight at high altitude in FS2004 and FSX.

This addon will allow Arrow fans to fly at high altitudes at twice the speed of sound, simulate the procedures required during test flights or reconnaissance and interception missions, and even test the anticipated performance of the mighty Orenda PS-13 “Iroquois” engine that was being installed in the Arrow Mark 2 at the time the Arrow program was cancelled.

Download a free version of the User Manual for complete product description and flight procedures (Zip file, PDF format, 54 MB, Adobe® Reader® 8.0 or later required).

MINIMUM SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS

  • Flight Simulator: Microsoft® Flight Simulator 2004 (FS9) or Flight Simulator X with Service Pack 2 (FSX Acceleration Expansion Pack or FSX Gold optional). Compatible with Lockheed Martin Prepar3D® (please read note below).
  • Operating System: Windows® XP SP2 (256 MB RAM), Windows® 8/7/Vista™ (512 MB RAM)*
  • Processor: 1.0 GHz*
  • Hard Drive: 15 GB (space required to install the simulator)*
  • Available Disk Space: 300 MB (space required to install the add-on software and documentation)
  • Video Card: 64 MB (128 MB or more recommended), DirectX® 9.0* (please read note below)
  • Other: Sound card and speakers, joystick, wheelmouse, Adobe® Reader® 8.0 or later

*: Please refer to your simulator's documentation for the recommended operating system and minimum requirements.

Windows® 8/7/Vista™ with DirectX® 10 or later (FSX) users: This addon was designed for FS2004 but is now compatible with FSX SP2. However, the current version of the software does not support DirectX® 10 or later. The "DirectX® 10 preview" option box and the "Light bloom" option box in the FSX Display Settings page must be unchecked for proper aircraft display.

Prepar3D® users: We have not thoroughly tested our software in Lockheed Martin Prepar3D®. However, we have been able to fly our current CF-105 Arrow addon in Prepar3D® without any issue. To install the software in Prepar3D®, follow the instructions for FSX installation and specify the correct folder path for Prepar3D® during the installation process (usually C:\Program Files\Lockheed Martin\Prepar3D). Select the "FSX with Acceleration Expansion Pack" option if asked.

IMPORTANT: Xtreme Prototypes addons are complex and require better video cards and more processing power and RAM than other more conventional add-on aircraft packages. Increased performance will be noticed on more powerful systems.
