The X-15A-2 Special Edition is an add-on software package that requires Microsoft ® Flight Simulator X with Acceleration Expansion Pack (or Flight Simulator Gold fully installed), Flight Simulator X: Steam ® Edition or Lockheed Martin ® Prepar3D ® to be installed on your computer.

The software is not a stand-alone product and cannot be used without the underlying simulation platform. Make sure that your simulation platform has been properly installed according to the instructions provided by the developer before installing this addon.

Important

Xtreme Prototypes next generation addons are designed to take advantage of the new and more powerful personal computer systems that are available today. They require better video cards and more processing power and RAM than other more conventional addons. Before installing this product, make sure you have the minimum system requirements or better. Increased performance will be noticed on more powerful systems.

Windows® 10/8.1/8/7 or later is required to install and fly this addon. We are sorry we cannot provide support for this addon if installed under Windows® VistaTM or Windows® XP®.

Note to FSX: Steam® Edition Users

The X-15A-2 SE addon is fully compatible with Flight Simulator X: Steam ® Edition. A special installer is available from our "Downloads" section (free for registered users). Refer to "Installing your Addon" for more details.

Note to Prepar3D® Users

The X-15A-2 Special Edition v2.0 addon now includes a native version (labeled v2.01) for the new 64-bit Prepar3D® v4 simulation platform. A special installer for Prepar3D® v4 is available from our "Downloads" section on our website. This updated version contains 64-bit DLLs and will not work in previous versions of Prepar3D® (nor in FSX). The update is free for registered users.

There is no special installer for Prepar3D® v3 available for this addon at this time. To install this addon in Prepar3D® v3, please use the installer for Prepar3D® v2 and change the path to your simulation platform during installation. The addon version for Prepar3D® v2 is compatible with Prepar3D® v3.

For optimized performance, we recommend upgrading your simulation platform to the 64-bit Prepar3D® v4.x and to use the installer for Prepar3D® v4 (see above).

Note that the versions for Prepar3D® v1 and FSX are compatible with all versions of Prepar3D®, except the 64-bit v4.

Minimum System Requirements:

Flight Simulation Platform (depending on the addon version installed): Microsoft ® Flight Simulator X with Acceleration Expansion Pack (or Flight Simulator X Gold fully installed), Flight Simulator X: Steam ® Edition or Lockheed Martin ® Prepar3D ® v1/2/3/4. This product is not compatible with earlier versions of Microsoft® Flight Simulator.

Operating System: Windows® 10/8.1/8/7 32-bit (64-bit recommended), depending on your simulator's requirements*.

Computer Memory (RAM): 8 GB (16 GB or more recommended)*

Processor: Dual Core 3.0 GHz (Quad Core 3.0 GHz or better recommended)*

Hard Drive Space: Each addon version uses approx. 3 GB when installed.

Video Card: 1 GB (a high-end video card with 2 GB GDDR5 or better is highly recommended)*. Installing this addon in Prepar3D® v2 and later requires a DirectX® 11-compatible video card*. Make sure you have the latest video driver for your operating system.

Graphics: DirectX® 11, 10 or 9 (depending on your simulator's requirements)*

Other: Wheel mouse, joystick (pedals optional), sound card and speakers, Adobe® Acrobat Reader®

Internet Connection: An Internet connection with browser is required to access the online help system (optimized for tablets and PCs). You can use your iPad®, Windows® or Android® tablet (optional) as an aviator kneeboard while flying the X-15A-2 SE.
