This section differs from the original X-15 manual to conform to the operation of the radio-communication and navigation equipment available in the simulator. On the real X-15, the radio-communication system operated in the UHF band. The radio in the virtual cockpit, while keeping the look and fell of the original X-15 radio, was modified to make it compatible with the VHF radio of the simulator and to offer additional radio-navigation features.
