Cockpit Lighting System

Parent Previous Next

Floodlights are attached to each side of the canopy.

The cockpit is lighted by two floodlights [4, fig. 4-3] attached to the canopy and located so that the light is directed forward and down, covering the entire cockpit controls and gauges. These adjustable lights are shielded to eliminate direct glare to the pilot. A switch on the instrument panel right wing controls the lighting system. The lighting system is powered by the primary DC bus.

Cockpit Lighting Switch

A two-position switch [39, figure 5-1], on the instrument panel right wing, controls the cockpit lighting system. The switch has ON and OFF positions and is labeled "COCKPIT LIGHTS". The switch is powered by the primary DC bus.

Note: When the aircraft is powered, flipping this switch to ON will turn on the two cockpit floodlights that are attached to the inside of the canopy, illuminating the virtual cockpit and the instrument panels. The cockpit will stay illuminated when in the invisible canopy mode.
